A-A-50721 Scale, Weighing, Cargo/PalletThis Commercial Item Description CID covers the characteristics for a rugged, environmentally protected, commercial type weighing scale with a nominal inaccuracy of +/- 0.1% of applied load. The scales covered by this CID are intended for weighing various items found in a warehouse as well as palletized cargo.

user and or applicable engine program office.  If the instrument has not been purchased

previously by the government and meets the evaluation process, the instrument shall be subjected

to functional testing prior to final approval by the government.

5.4       Serviceability, Reliability, and Quality of Materials

5.4.1        One copy of the commercial operation and maintenance manual(s) shall be shipped with the equipment.  One additional copy of the operation and maintenance manual shall be shipped to the cognizant engineer at no additional cost to the government.  The address for the cognizant engineer is found in 5.5.2.

5.5.2    All supplied items shall carry a standard commercial warranty on parts and labor. Information on warranty duration and expiration date, conditions and point of contact shall be shipped with each unit.  One additional copy of the warranty information shall be shipped to the cognizant engineer at no additional cost to the government. 6.0       PACKAGING

6.1       Packaging. Packaging and packing shall be packaged and packed as required in the contract.

6.2       Marking.  The scale shall be marked in accordance with MIL- STD-130.  The scale rated capacity shall be marked on the unit.  If the weight exceeds 37 pounds, the weight shall be marked on the unit.

7.0       NOTES.

7.1        Acquisition Requirements.  Acquisition documents must specify the following;

7.1.1     Title, number, and date of this commercial item description.

7.1.2     Preservation and packaging requirements (see 6.0).

7.2  Technical Manuals.  The requirement for technical manuals should be considered when this CID is applied on a contract.  The technical manuals must be acquired under a separate contract line item in the contract.
