rubber or similar water resistant material. The platform shall be at least 10 inches wide by 13 inches long. The base shall not tip or rock on a flat surface.
3.4.2. Weight Display. The weight display shall consist of a digital display. The display shall display no less than 0.25 lb increments. The weight display shall be at least 30 inches above the platform and readable by a person on the scale.
3.4.3. Column. The column shall be metal or other rigid material and shall contain the weight display, and required connections between the base and display.
3.4.5. Height measuring rod. The height measuring rod shall be telescoping and be designed to measure the height of a person standing on the platform. The measuring rod shall measure heights from 30 inches to 78 inches and shall have a tolerance of ±0.125 inch.
3.5. Type IV. Type IV scales shall have a digital weight display.
3.5.1. Weight display. The weight display shall consist of a digital display. The display shall display no less than 1 lb increments. The weight display shall be readable by a person on the scale.
3.5.2. Tolerance. The scale tolerance for zero to 200 lb shall be ±2 lb. The scale tolerance above 200 lb shall be ±1 percent.
3.5.3. Base. The base shall be metal or other rigid material and shall have an integral non-skid surface or a mat or some other non-skid material on the top surface secured to the top surface. The mat shall be rubber or similar water resistant material.
4. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE.
4.1. Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producer's own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices, and is the same as the product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
4.2. Market acceptability. The product offered must have been previously sold on either to the government or on the commercial market.
5. PACKAGING.
5.1. Packaging. The scales shall be preserved, packed, and marked in accordance with the domestic or overseas requirements of ASTM D 3951, "Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging", or as specified in the acquisition order (see 6.2.c.).
